It has come to our attention that there is an issue obtaining the manufacturer required oil for this engine. According to the manufacturer this engine requires dexos™2 0w-20 engine oil. However, currently that specified oil appears to only be available from the manufacturer. Even dealers do not have it. General Motors has not licensed any oil manufacturer to produce the dexos™2 0w-20 oil as of the writing of this alert. To keep an eye on any licensed manufactures of the oil you can go here to find out.

If you have a vehicle that the oil cap on the engine specifies dexos™2 0w-20, please swing by the shop and let us take a picture of it, get your vehicle information (year, make and model) and send it in to our association so they can track this issue better. (2) Quantum Platinum Plus by Volkswagen Group UK Ltd

(3) Service Pro by Warren Oil Company, LLC
